After I published my previous post, I received feedback from friends and some business clients as well that I don't speak to. Nevertheless, I thought it would be good to include it in this weeks post so that people don't think that I over-reacted!

You know, just a thought that she probably assumed that RapidTrader is run by a man! Just today, a contact msgd me saying she thought I was male! I dunno, do people think that a woman can't run a successful ad agency? Trust me when I say that we multi-task wayyyyy better than most men even when us women are half dying with the flu!
A new contact sent me the ffg message and she is 100% correct!

I mentioned on my FB wall the same night when I published my previous post that people mustn't pretend to be me, nor should they even attempt to step on my toes! If I don't bite, I have many friends that will do so for me! OUCH!!!

So I found out the meaning of the word 'grot'. A contact msged me saying that it's a nice way to say that someone is NOT pleasing to the eye. After I statused the meaning, I received this crazy msg from my friend:

It means UGLY !!!
This is too funny! Her family named a guy that proposed to her, a grot! So now I think that word is going to be used a bit more often than previously, yeh just blame it on Q !!!

Making and shaking South Africa this week was the story about the DA 'merging' with AGANG. Media headlined this move in every newspaper, tweet and post on FB. It was a surprise to many and everyone watched what the next step would be.
Alas, the next day, things turned sour and PR was scrambling to turn it into something positive. A friend msgd me:
"DA and AGANG went from DAGANG to DAGONE. Lesson learnt from this? Never kiss on your first date!"
Haha! That was witty!
Aha! What those 2 madams thought? THAT KISS plastered on every newspaper! That they Madonna and Miley @ MTV Awards? Yeh, try pulling off that move @ the next SA Music awards!

Keeping to the theme of politics, my cousin sent me a hilarious pic that she took out @ Dept Home Affairs. Other family members had it up as their dp bcos it was just so weird. As you can see,  the funny bone runs in the family!

Gosh! I really wishhhhh that I had the writer of this sign on my bbm, then I'd have loads of material for my blog posts every week! I don't even want to think about the errors in her bc msgs that she sends out! But more importantly, how on earth did she even get this job. If she can make such blatant errors on a simple sign, I wonder how she is doing in the I.D. / Passports dept! Next time you gotta drag yourself to these torture places, do remember to check that the info is correct on your documents!

Some people think that it's perfectly ok to talk/sing/laugh and growl at the top of their lungs! Even if it's early part of the morning! I don't know about you, but at that part of the morning, I'm in a very deep sleep and nobody dare disturb me!

Yeh and some others feel that it's their yard so they can do as they please

2 Nasty Episodes

Hey all my lovely friends !!!
Hmm... it has been a crazy week with clients booking for the Valentines rush and I wont even begin to blog about the kiddies homework!! My afternoons are now strictly with the kids, you would think that they are busy with final exam preps, the amount of homework they are swamped with is unreal. So please bear with me, if I don't reply to you it's because I am with my little darlings!
I had  a look at my stats on my blog home page and I'm thrilled to say I have followers from Brazil, Malaysia, Italy and Poland! I'm all smiles. Welcome to my blog, all the way from South Africa!

We are well into the summer season in SA, gosh it's really hot! I have to admit that I can't do without the a/c. People, drink plenty of fluids and make sure that the kiddos do as well. If you have pets, keep them hydrated as well and out of the sun. Us Durbanites just can't get enough of the beach! It's oh-so quiet and empty. Early mornings walks and cool evening strolls make it an ideal family time. #dancing

Aaah, to start this post with something positive... It was my birthday last week and wow! Thanks everyone for all the lovely and kind msgs. There were too many to count, but one msg stood out and  really touched my heart!

Some contacts wanted to take me out for lunch and coffee! Others wanted to send a birthday cake to me but yorl were Jhb based. All in all, I was truly humbled by the many bbm msgs! #mwahs

Yeh sooo... I have been receiving emails and other correspondence from one and all asking what really happened with the contact that pretended to be me. After my last post, everyone have been waiting eagerly to hear it straight from the horses mouth!

A contact of mine msged me saying:
"Q !!! Hold onto your hat because there is someone else on bbm that's imitating you and goes as almost the same name as you!"

Eish, you know medically, I have no issues health-wise but this was enough to send even a low blood pressure sky high! She immediately screengrabbed his name and sent it to me. Apparently he had a different name but thought it was a good move to change his name to "Rapid Ads". Many clients had his name as a contact, so he discreetly changed to Rapid Ads and some of my clients were messaging him, thinking that it was me and booking ad space with him! Talk about riding on my success, for him, it was like riding a tsunami wave! I'm not sure for how long he had this name change #thinking

After I bc'ed a msg to my clients telling them that I work alone and I'm not affiliated with anyone, I started receiving numerous msgs all saying how astonished they were about this con. My good friends started bbming him, asking him to change his name, which he eventually did. I think he didn't anticipate the loyalty of RapidTrader contacts!
  

I did change my name to 'Aisha' for a while and thought about inviting him and giving him a piece of my mind but let go of that because he got the msg from my contacts!

I really want to thank everyone for going out of your way for helping me expose this fraud and putting everything into perspective. It makes my life easier knowing that I can count on you for your support. I apologise if your chat to me is not in this post as u can well imagine, I receive many many msgs.
This happened about 3 weeks ago....
As if that wasn't enough, I experienced another nasty episode this week:

As you know, I run 'Special Requests' on my bbm and this is totally free. I do it totally for the pleasure of the Almighty. All requests are saved and I status it as I have space on my bbm. Sooo I had hubby's request this weekend, he was looking for something. The thing is, no one knew that he was my hubby. He received some invites that looked favourable and started sifting through the time wasters immediately. He don't have too many contacts, about 18 contacts or so! #blocks face
He is totally not interested in receiving bc's from contacts. After all, if he is looking for something, he just asks me to find it for him.
So a 'Rene  pin:2b7......'  invited him. After the "hi, how can I help" routine, she ended up being a man-eater!
She had the damn cheek to say:

 "I don't have what you are looking for but I''m so bored, do you mind if we chat a bit?"

Gosh I was cross and I checked that she was indeed a contact on my bbm. He msgd back that he is not interested in a chat, he don't chat to women, is happily married, deleted her immediately AND blocked her.
I was so tempted to msg her but he said to me, let it go. And this was after 10pm @ night!

The next day, she msged me. Of course, last night's episode was still lingering on in my mind and I was just itching to give her a piece of my mind! This was my chat with her. Thankfully, I immediately screengrabbed her chat with me. I have the habit to do so with anyone that troubles me.

The funny thing is that I was advertising for "Meat Express" at the time and she chose to include their info in her bc, bad-mouthing them in the process. Ag, you get some people with a low IQ and you just gotta accept their weird take on life.
I can assure you that Meat Express run a totally straight forward halaal business and are widely known throughout SA! I will vouch for their honesty and integrity any day!
U know after I sent out a bc telling everyone to pls ignore a person by the name of Rene, everyone wanted to know what happened. I couldn't respond to all so it was just easier to blog about it. And then a client msgd me with the ffg:

What can I say? I should have deleted her the same night! Another contact thats really waiting to hear what happened:

LMAO !!! It's one of the reasons why I started this blog because I go through the ups and downs! Some are funny and some are downright frustrating !!!
Hmmmmm..... 2 nasty episodes in 1 blog! That's a first for me!

Hmmm yes, we all know how distracting a bb is!

Aaah, I came across a new word from a contact. Though I'm not sure what it means. Is this a vaalie word?
It's just that I haven't heard a person locally mention that word. You know I love all my Jozi friends! #hugs

I really have no idea what it is. Maybe a slang word from the older generations? Someone msg me and clear the air please!

Oh yes.... this made the news last week on bbm. Where else can this happen, but in Lenz??? It wasn't the lady's snake but she was kind enough to put it as her status as I noticed many others did so. The bc ended as: 'Please don't panic, stay calm'
So now? Residents were supposed to stay calm while a dangerous pet was slithering away in their backyards? AND a hungry python, nogal! It's madness!

Now and then I receive msgs from people asking me:
'Are you the author for Diary of a Guji Girl?'
Sowwwy, that's a different Q and not me!!! Apparently she ends her posts with: 'Q'
Between doing bbm ads , blogging here and dealing with contacts that I wana bust a coconut on, I don't really have much time!

This past week I've been receiving numerous bc's about a contact named Charlize. Apparently she owed people money and they wanted her contact details. Me being a softy, I didn't bc the request about her because I really don't wish to get involved with things like this as it may turn nasty. But I did notice that she sent out a bc apologising and stating her reasons. Looks like she was let down by her supplier.

I wish to end this post by saying to all:
Please don't annoy me and think that you can tell me what you want and by deleting me, your problem is solved. I will find you and I have an excellent memory as some contacts tell me. 

I actually feel much better blogging about my experiences and I hope people learn from their mistakes.

Post-Holiday

Hey Gorgeous!  
How you doing? It's the start of 2014 and I must admit that this holiday went by super quick! I can still recall sending out the bc saying that I'm on leave and looking forward to a break with the family and WOW ..... time really flew by!
I had my 3 adorable nieces holidaying with me from PTA and it was super-fab with them around. I have 2 sons, so having them around made me think: it would be lovely to have a daughter! Lets see what this new year brings!
It was exciting viewing everyones dp, seeing where everyone were holidaying - to destinations across SA and worldwide! From Durbs to Knysna to Cape Town to Kruger National and PE! But I must admit that those international pics from Malaysia, Dubai, Turkey and Singapore were stunning! All those that took the time to msg me and send me those stunning pics, love you! It's truly great having you around!
I have been receiving tons of msgs from all my friends, all asking me when my new post will be published. There was just no time to blog and the grey matter was on holiday also! *winks

It's been a fantastic week thus far with lots of msgs coming through. Everyone is getting back into the work mode and back in business, schools open this week so I'm guessing all the mums blood pressure are reverting to their normal reading!!! And the dad's? Hmmmm, I'm guessing their stress are just starting. If you are a director, owner or manager of a business/company..... spare a thought for those that are in your employ! They are not your slaves and remember that you will be answerable as to how you treated them no matter what religious beliefs they have! I have been receiving complaints from many ladies about this and how it's affecting their family lives. Q, the agony aunt!
On a positive note, my good friend on bbm is always praising her bosses and saying that they are such a pleasure to work with. Thanx M, lovely reading your msgs !!!

I hope all had fun with family and friends during this holidays. I noticed a trend:
You know the feeling when u wait for your holiday time bcos you work so hard throughout the year..... and then your hubby hits you with a bombshell....

Him: "All the bookings are made darling and we leave this weekend."
Her: "I can't wait to escape this madness and just enjoy myself."
Him: "Aha! We needed this break."
Her: "Yep, the kids are excited too."
Him: "Yeh, we all will meet up @ that Total garage on the Ridge, better to travel together....."
Her: "What did u just say?"
Him: "Didn't I tell you? Chota Bhai, Gori Foi and Mo mamajee and their families also booked with us so we all will be staying together for the week..."

Haha, this didn't happen to me, but hmmm... many ladies complained about this to me. What can I say? U don't just marry the hubby, you gotta accept the baggage that comes with it! Next time, be smart! Ladies, you handle the bookings and tell hubby it's a surprise destination BUT remember that he will be paying for it!

Come on hun, things can't be that bad? But I must admit that you are brave to have this as your status!!! You either don't give a damn what they think and gone past that line about caring orrrrr .... u don't have them on bbm. I'm guessing the former!

Oh yessss! People also get transfered in Dec and start with a new job in a new city. So it means shifting, and starting all over again. Be sure to keep the noise levels down as my ffg contact noted on her status:

I'm sure they were just excited about being in their new neighbourhood and were just settling in!

New years resolutions?

Who doesn't make one? Even those that say: "I don't believe in that." ------ silently make one but just don't go about telling ppl about it! My opinion? Just continue with the resolution that you made 10 years ago, bcos it remains more or less the same. It's just re-worded to sound fancy and catchy UNLESS this was yours:

Seriously??? When I came across this status, I'm like: What The *#*# ????? 

This contact has some serious issues with the ppl in her life! It makes the "family sucks" status that's above look like child's play! Yasis! She means business and thankfully we not related! I hope she included visits to see a psych in her schedule for 2014 !!!

People like this should be banned from owning a Blackberry and go back to their 90's Nokias that they gave to their grandma to use. Yessss, it had that feature "Reminders" on the menu!

Have a fab 2014 and work towards your goals! Don't sit back and think: "I wish I could buy this" and "I'm so unlucky" ----- if you remain negative, you will never step out of that shell. We all face hardships but it's upto you how you manage it. Don't let situations control you. It's your life - write down what you wish to achieve and make sure you are doing something about it. Everyday is an opportunity to slowly edge closer to it!

I know that I'm late with this post, hey with holidays here, it's a mission to find the time to blog and even though I'm on leave for advertising, don't ask me where the time goes! Durban has been having rain almost everyday but now we are having some sunshine - do make the most of it BUT as the Aussies say:
Slip on a hat, Slop on some sunscreen and Slap on some ???    *can't remember the 3rd line! *blocks face
but I do know that it's something beneficial! *grins

I've been inundated with sooo many msgs about my previous post whereby I blogged about plagiarism and it seems to me that it is quite a common, albeit an irritating hobby of many people on bbm. What to do? They are like parasites.

 

 

You know with the holidays upon us, we are all getting bc's about kids and how we should look at ways to keep them occupied cos u gotta admit that bored kid/s = moody mums! Don't ask me where the dads fit in but its usually the mums job to be a referee to the kids and keep them entertained with something at home. Unless they get a hold of your blackberry, which is an absolute no no!!! They can access the iPads, PC's and notebooks but not our bb's! Aaaah but see this:

 

U know I'm used to receiving msgs like this all the time but what really made me laugh was the ending. Have a look......... This kid was typing utter nonsense but funny enough, typed the word 'obey' at the end. Sheer coincidence!!!
What if the kiddos send a msg in error to the wrong person? That would be a nightmare!!!
Hmmm with ALL our info nicely setup in our memo's and tasks and all our contacts renamed to what we call the person... YES that's what I usually do - everyone in my contact list is renamed, I can't handle all the fancy shmancy patterns with lots of hearts, roses etc. ---- everyone that I accept are immediately renamed. There's no ways I'd want all that to be interfered with.
Another thing I've noticed is that people send me voicenotes all the time. Burrrrrt they send me 8-10 vn's and each is 2 seconds in length! How do they possibly tape in error and send to me??? This week was a classic but being so busy, I didn't have time to screengrab the chat. I received the vn, it was over a minute long of a conversation between 2 people. When I listened to it, I realised that the lady sent it to me by mistake. She immediately msgd me and apologised. She didn't save it and wanted it back sooooo I sent it back to her! Crazzzzzy huh?

Not as crazy as shopping this festive season! It's like everyone is out there to get the cheapest, most value for money item. Eish, don't worry about getting latest techno buys, just go for this:

Somehow I find that normal decent folks turn into mall freaks, trying to out-do each other. Forget trolleys slamming into your ankles, I'm talking about vulgar language been thrown at you because you kindly mentioned that it's their turn to offload the trolley when they think it's necessary to tweet some ridiculous message. That's a new trend, people walking about with their latest gadget in hand. REALITY CHECK: We don't care that you've got the latest from I.Connect or wherever, we just want to get what we want and go back to the sanity of our homes.

Hey but this is not restricted to this mall, it goes out to all malls across the country. I somehow expect some smart comments from my Jozi contacts !!!!!

This week saw a colleague in the latest issue of Speed 'n Sound, special congrats to you! I'm soooo happy for you - you really worked hard and I know better things are to come! It's great chatting to you * smiles + hugs. Do check it out!

I've been getting many lovely messages from contacts that are happy with my advertising service, I'm really touched.

I've been busy with my pin trains in December and I will be completing my final train in the days to come but so far everyone are thrilled with the response. This is what being a rapidtrader is all about, it's about networking and bringing together everyone for better responses for our businesses. The ffg contact received another 10 new invites in under a minute!

My driving lessons are going super, I love being behind the wheel. I came across the ffg profile and I knew instantly that I just had to screengrab it:

Don't know what was worse for this young lady - sitting nervously next to a cheeky instructor or almost running over her ex! Yeh she can always say that it was a mistake cos she still learning to drive - just to get even for all the heartache he caused her! Btw, everyone says that women are the worse drivers (and men have the worse road rage), lol, she could have just added to that statistic!
