I know that I'm late with this post, hey with holidays here, it's a mission to find the time to blog and even though I'm on leave for advertising, don't ask me where the time goes! Durban has been having rain almost everyday but now we are having some sunshine - do make the most of it BUT as the Aussies say:
Slip on a hat, Slop on some sunscreen and Slap on some ???    *can't remember the 3rd line! *blocks face
but I do know that it's something beneficial! *grins

Ok, ok..... just spray on some 'peaceful sleep' - South African style, yep the mozzies are out in full swing:

I've been inundated with sooo many msgs about my previous post whereby I blogged about plagiarism and it seems to me that it is quite a common, albeit an irritating hobby of many people on bbm. What to do? They are like parasites.

 

 

You know with the holidays upon us, we are all getting bc's about kids and how we should look at ways to keep them occupied cos u gotta admit that bored kid/s = moody mums! Don't ask me where the dads fit in but its usually the mums job to be a referee to the kids and keep them entertained with something at home. Unless they get a hold of your blackberry, which is an absolute no no!!! They can access the iPads, PC's and notebooks but not our bb's! Aaaah but see this:

 

U know I'm used to receiving msgs like this all the time but what really made me laugh was the ending. Have a look......... This kid was typing utter nonsense but funny enough, typed the word 'obey' at the end. Sheer coincidence!!!
What if the kiddos send a msg in error to the wrong person? That would be a nightmare!!!
Hmmm with ALL our info nicely setup in our memo's and tasks and all our contacts renamed to what we call the person... YES that's what I usually do - everyone in my contact list is renamed, I can't handle all the fancy shmancy patterns with lots of hearts, roses etc. ---- everyone that I accept are immediately renamed. There's no ways I'd want all that to be interfered with.
Another thing I've noticed is that people send me voicenotes all the time. Burrrrrt they send me 8-10 vn's and each is 2 seconds in length! How do they possibly tape in error and send to me??? This week was a classic but being so busy, I didn't have time to screengrab the chat. I received the vn, it was over a minute long of a conversation between 2 people. When I listened to it, I realised that the lady sent it to me by mistake. She immediately msgd me and apologised. She didn't save it and wanted it back sooooo I sent it back to her! Crazzzzzy huh?

Not as crazy as shopping this festive season! It's like everyone is out there to get the cheapest, most value for money item. Eish, don't worry about getting latest techno buys, just go for this:

Somehow I find that normal decent folks turn into mall freaks, trying to out-do each other. Forget trolleys slamming into your ankles, I'm talking about vulgar language been thrown at you because you kindly mentioned that it's their turn to offload the trolley when they think it's necessary to tweet some ridiculous message. That's a new trend, people walking about with their latest gadget in hand. REALITY CHECK: We don't care that you've got the latest from I.Connect or wherever, we just want to get what we want and go back to the sanity of our homes.

Hey but this is not restricted to this mall, it goes out to all malls across the country. I somehow expect some smart comments from my Jozi contacts !!!!!

This week saw a colleague in the latest issue of Speed 'n Sound, special congrats to you! I'm soooo happy for you - you really worked hard and I know better things are to come! It's great chatting to you * smiles + hugs. Do check it out!

I've been getting many lovely messages from contacts that are happy with my advertising service, I'm really touched.

I've been busy with my pin trains in December and I will be completing my final train in the days to come but so far everyone are thrilled with the response. This is what being a rapidtrader is all about, it's about networking and bringing together everyone for better responses for our businesses. The ffg contact received another 10 new invites in under a minute!

My driving lessons are going super, I love being behind the wheel. I came across the ffg profile and I knew instantly that I just had to screengrab it:

Don't know what was worse for this young lady - sitting nervously next to a cheeky instructor or almost running over her ex! Yeh she can always say that it was a mistake cos she still learning to drive - just to get even for all the heartache he caused her! Btw, everyone says that women are the worse drivers (and men have the worse road rage), lol, she could have just added to that statistic!

Bbm has made everyone pious!

Good Morning everyone!
No newspaper article, blog or any written medium throughout the world will be complete without a mention of the passing away of Nelson Mandela...
This week we saw the falling of a giant. A true icon not only for South Africa but for the whole world. If you have travelled to any country and if you say that you from SA, the immediate response would be: 'Mandela'. You didn't have to understand the English language to understand who this man was and what he stood for.
I was being bombarded by some people with their bc's to the effect: So what if he passed away?

Helllooooooo?????? Get off your high horses and take time to reflect what he did for our country!!! You are free to practice your religion, dress how you wish to and have freedom of movement because of his morals! SA was on the brink of civil war and he united everyone under the rainbow nation. Do you read the newspaper? Or do you watch the news on TV? We see countless countries been ravaged by war. D.R.C., Liberia, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Niger, Libya, Algeria, Egypt, Syria, Burma etc. Do you even contemplate how fortunate we are that we live so comfortably in our posh homes? So do yourself a favour, think..... that when he walked out of prison, he had all the power to turn this country into anarchy but he didn't! He helped others that were in dire need to the best of his ability. What are you doing to uplift those around you? That neighbour who you know that's barely making ends meet..... the family relative thats always collecting charity..... the orphanages and old age homes in your area, what about the prisons that have muslim inmates - when was the last time you found time to do something good for them? Oh yes, I forgot, it's easy to just send out a bc that you have received and be oblivious to whats happening around you. *talk to my hand

It's our duty to show respect and offer condolences no matter what faith he belonged to AND we continue praying for those that have left us.

Some contacts are really confused as to which 'race' I belong to. Does it really matter? Not really I suppose but does it help to know so that you know how to chat to the person. You know what I mean! Whether to say:  "charo", "pozi" or "cheers" in the chat. Apparently, my biz name sounds "white"

And I'm like, sorry, I apologise, I'm toooo busy for chit-chat and frankly I don't really speak the way you do even though I'm a Durbanite. Not that I take offence, but I'm on a totally different wavelength as you and don't understand half of the things you say.

I'm still receiving those damn annoying horror bc's. I mostly get these bc's from the kids, yessss I have under 18 category on my device.

When I received this bc, I felt like telling all my contacts on my phone, EVERYONE please send this back to her. So she can send it to her contacts and we must bc it BUT don't send it to her? Next time I will do just that, that should teach her a lesson!

This next bc had me confused. My first thought was: that's a terrible thing to happen because no one likes their bb to be wiped. You lose all your info. Then the 2nd bc comes along and I'm like WT* ? Is this person a female or male? I don't know what's worse - being confused about your race or gender!!! *LMAO

I'm guessing nobody contacted this person, cos after a while, I get the next bc. Contacts must be avoiding him/her like the plague. Eish, are people this lame?

Here's a lunchtime "eeewwwww moment"
This is worse than the wriggly worm that I had on my previous post. Do people just eat away blindly, gulp their food down without taking the time to seeeeee what they are eating? And where are they buying their lunch from? Sorrrrry! when I'm in Jhb again, I will seriously consider where I'm invited out to eat. Yep, that's from a vaalie contact - NW, to be precise! Eish to me, that's all in one boat!

I have a bone to pick with the ffg contact.
I don't have issues with people asking me to help word out their ads. I do this on a daily basis.
(Ha, which reminds, my one dear contact told me that I should be a scriptwriter, yessssss - I will charge you for this - Ima collect when you come Durbs again!). Anyways, a biz contact of mines sent me the ffg msg and told me:
" Q, you are in for a shock, cos he is using your exact words for his ads "
For those of you who are familiar with my msgs when you request price packages, you will notice that it's my exact words!

Not to leave this lying down, I invited him, sent him the screengrab and this was his response:

Don't know if he has an atttitude problem or just lacks serious English language skills, but that's life I guess! Some people are have no originality. If you are reading this Nemo , SUE ME !!!!!

I will be closed for bc's from this weekend. I will only be doing status+dp ads. I'm almost fully booked out for December. Next year I will be re-structuring ads and I will fwd the info to one and all. Some contacts are still inviting me on my old bb. That device is for family only. Big brouhaha when I asked people for a copy of a book that I wanted to read, mostly Jhb contacts msged me. Many offered to send it to me via e-mail and then I've had other contacts who also want it. I will fwd it to you as I get time. Will start to read this weekend. Uptight contacts that have a problem with my personality, please just delete me!

Lovely logging in and finding that my audience has increased to include Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon! I'm ecstatic!
SA schools close this week and this past week has been crazy for all mums and dads attending their kids Awards functions. Excited parents had their kid's pics up with their certificates and trophies... well done to all those who excelled! My kids awards will be held next year Feb and a beeeeg hug goes to my nephew Mohammed Furqaan Khan who topped his class with 1st position and received Most Outstanding achievement award! Mwah to you sweetheart!

In response to my blog before this, I have been absolutely inundated with messages! All agreed that it pays to be kind and good mannered! Some people are just born with a serious lack of patience and seriously need to be enrolled into anger management classes - don't know if there is lifelong membership for the person on my previous post. Cos 3 months course won't do justice to what he needs.

Wellllll said Tasneem! I couldn't agree with you more! Other bloggers feel that using vulgar language is what draws readers - I think content is most important. A writer loves to share a connection with readers and ultimately create a special liason with all - I hope that I have found a way into everyones hearts and lives!

Last week I received such a weird msg from a client who wished to advertise his business on RapidTrader. Some people are mental and I definitely declined. I had the screengrab up on my dp and the msgs that followed after were toooo many. I'm not sure if I still have the screengrab saved, drop me an e-mail or bbm to find out what it was. The following is controversial, but it's my thoughts and I am entitled to my opinion!

For those who don't know who he is, he is a Swedish, Muslim singer though he has incorporated music into his songs which we are not allowed to listen to. He has worked with big names in USA including M.Jackson. He will be touring SA this month. Nooooo I'm not going to attend, I have no intention to!!!

Sooooo I've been receiving bc msgs warning us not to attend his show. Good point. And then I receive the bc msg again. And again. And again. From the same contacts. I don't have a problem with contacts reminding me about whats right and whats wrong BUT I have a serious problem when u send me bc msgs about not attending his show BUT your status proves that you are a hypocrite. 

You have statuses like: 

"Yayyyy! @ Suncoast, DND" (Suncoast is a mall/casino in Durban)

"Awesome dance night"

And then there are others that just love to judge people. I say: put your house in order first please! Look at what you are doing wrong - see how you can improve your life and that of your children and then your family BEFORE you constantly comment about others. How do you know if he practices Islam more than us? If he makes ibadat/prays more than us? If he has a Friday mauth/death, are you still gonna judge him? I guess those that are reading this and are not of the muslim faith won't really understand what I'm getting at, be that as it may, that's my take on it!

To those that bc me msgs about Islam, I cherish reading them - I have lots of friends and family that do - keep 'em coming!

BB has gone beserk this week with the news about Paul Walker passing away in a car crash. He had a good following around the globe and honestly I wasn't going to mention him in my blog but I have been receiving soooo funny bc msgs about him, I thought to myself: Why not?

I just burst out laughing when I received this bc! I mean, do contacts just blindly copy and paste msgs and then bc? Do they take the time to read msgs?  NOT in this case! Even her status mixed up his stage name! Last I recall, 'brain' is sooooo uncool for a racing driver's name!  

Guess what? 

I have a BBC correspondent in my contacts! How cool is that? I get to hear the latest what's happening in the news so I am really kept upto date! Like seriously????? I'd like to know which team this contact belongs to, probably the BBC Playgroup Team, if you can't spell "message", I don't know how you got the job! Next we will be hearing that Elvis is alive and Lennon was seen in Rome!

The ffg 2 pics are from FB, and it's along the same lines. I mean, if you are going to write a comment about something on your FB wall - which is like sooooooo public, at least take the time to know your facts before making a fool of yourself! FB is not some school/college thing which is restricted to few friends, any goof-ups goes viral!

Speaking of FB, I haven't had time to see what's happening on my wall, and who's commenting or liking, there's just no time. Haha, but you have been checking up on my birth date! Sly sly! Not sure if that belated gift is coming with a big red bow or not, just like I suggested - Awesome chatting to you awla time! It's great having you around *hugs n kisses

I'm still having a problem with contacts pinging me if they want me to reply to them. Changing my dp + status and sending out a bc does not mean I'm available for a chat. It means I had 5 min to quickly do just that and I will reply to msgs as I get time. My bb stays on "phone calls only" and the ping has been de-activated. I receive between 25-30 msgs/hour. Some contacts ping without saying another word. How am I supposed to know what u wish to know???? I just end your chat. The best would be for you to greet and leave your request so that I know how to respond. To those of you that ping in error and apologise thereafter, I make it my duty to msg back : 'Apology accepted'

After grinding my teeth, I think to myself, do contacts actually love to receive pings? How damn annoying! In fact, some contacts just wait to receive pings, they really wait for it. I need to bring together the above contact and the next one below, they can sit the whole day pinging each other:

Welllll, the obvious would be to lay a complaint at the take-away where you bought it from! I'm not sure how putting it as your status is gonna help you...... besides spoiling our appetite for lunch! It makes you think twice about eating out. I dunno where this contact resides so ppl dont msg me asking.

I booked my drivers test for next year, *blocks face - just waiting to get that sorted out before I can tackle on achieving my next goal. People, always stay motivated in life! I see some really sad statuses on my dp - it's your life so take control of it! Work on what your obstacles are and find a way to overcome them. If you persist and put in that effort, you will see the results. Don't allow others to belittle you and make you feel worthless. Take a stand and be proud of who you are! Mistakes of the past are learning curves, put it behind you and move forward, don't dwell on it - learn from it!

Whatsapp is closing down......

Good morning everyone.
A very special helllooooo to my friends in China! Yayyy my blog is being read worldwide! I hope that you will find my writings interesting and entertaining! It's all light-hearted jokes and some serious stuff! Do take the time to read my previous posts as well! *hugs

My bb device has been giving me problems for the past week so I had to give it in for a software upgrade on Monday and wow! I was really suffering from withdrawal symptoms. I was using my 2nd bb to chat to family and all were saying: 'U must be enjoying the peace and quiet" and I'm thinking: "Nooooo ways!!!"

 Oooooh, we coming close to December hol's, I can just feel the excitement with the increase in peeps advertising. As your'll are aware I will be taking a much deserved semi-holiday from the 14th of December - 5th of January. I have been bc-ing all the info this past week, do take the time to read it!
Did your'll hear what's happening to Whatsapp? Oh come on!!!! Don't tell me that you didn't get the bc???? It's been doing the rounds every 2 weeks or so......
Yeh I heard that it's shutting down....
Oooops! Did I say Whatsapp? I meant Bbm!!!! Haha, aaaargh, you all know what I'm getting at! You rushing to get home because you wana check msgs before you do anything else and u see-

1st chat:

Oh no, don't tell me this nonsense has started again!

2nd chat:
'....... they will know that you didn't bc......'
Eish, this idiot also bc's this msg!

By now all you can think of is wringing these peoples necks and saying to them: Grow up please! Why are your'll so ignorant and gullible? Not me, being a softie I just msg them a *blocked face or a polite msg:

But other contacts get really realllly cross and really take off with them, not that I blame them. These constant bc's about bbm shutting down are a real pain in the a... Checkout these 2 responses - I promise its a riot!

What about those msgs that say: if you love your mum, bc the msg or she will die in 1 years time. If you think I'm typing hogwash, see this:

Where do people come up with messages like this? Do they sit alone in their room and think: Leme type out a bc about my mum. Most people will think of loving poetry with references to beauty and all things pretty, others are real nutcases. But see her status: If she is so serious about her bc msg, I can't fathom whats so funny about it.....
Oh! and dare I forget about those "if you love the devil bc's" - I'm yet to come across any satanists on bbm. Have you seen any black clothed people in a black room with black candles playing their favourite pastime -ouija and all that jazz? Nope I didn't think so

So this fellow bc'ed this message and I was really curious to find out what he got in 30 seconds. A new phone? No! A good mark for exams? No! His dad gave him the car to use? Nooooooo!
I'm guessing lunch!!!!! See his status! LMAO!!!

Now we all love our pets. I honestly don't have any, my 2 sons keep me on my toes - but I just love reading other contacts statuses about their beloved cats and dogs AND see all their cute profile pictures. Awwww its adorable!!! Eish, but read this status:

All those cute pics from my mind just went flying out through the window instantly and horrible thoughts came in - double eeeeew from me and now u thinking the same thing, and laughing to yourself!!! Hahahaha!

I have many people selling poultry from home/farm on my bbm which is a good thing because many people like their chickens fresh. I've heard of 'zulu chickens' and 'cornish hens' BUT for the life of me, I just don't know what "underground chickens" are ???!!!

Because this contact is from Jhb and I definitely havent heard any Durbanite using that phrase!!! Some type of chicken with underground links to the mafia..... ooop! that's "underworld" , but nevermind - will just leave it at that!

Aaaargh! Now I had to include this next piece in my blog. As a bbm advertiser, I receive many nasty comments from people that think it's ok to verbally abuse me. I'm fed up with brainless people like this, from now on: name and shame!

I don't care if this man is your husband/uncle/brother or friend - I will absolutely NOT tolerate language like this. I will screengrab the chats, delete and put on my 'ignored list'.
He had a gripe because he had to bc my ad and I was only accepting his 1 line ad, not thinking that pin trains are all about being 1 line! I was also highly upset at his insinuation that other bbm advertisers are fair and I am not.
One thing I learnt is that attitude like this doesn't get you far in life, what you sow, you shall reap! If anyone feels that they have a problem with the service that I provide, please say so politely and then delete yourself. Will it kill you to have manners? I work hard to find time to answer all questions and queries, liase with clients for ad space, change my dp+status and send out bc's timeously. It takes alot of multi-tasking and organisational skills to do what I do + I have a family to see to! The next spineless person that feels it's ok to disrespect me in this manner, think again!

It's been a crazy week and I am thankful for all the wonderful friends that I have, I wouldn''t be where I am today without all the love and support from you ALL!

Studying and Hot Pics

Hey everyone! How are your'll keeping? I hope everyone is in good health! Whew it's a scorcher of a day today..... helllooooo summer!
There has been sooo many responses to my previous posts so I thought I'd share the following 2 screengrabs with you. It just goes to show that I'm not the only one who finds those people annoying. I wasn't the only one to be bombarded with bc's every 2 minutes.

So now people are being corrected continuously but they choose to remain ignorant, never mind that they are being talked about. *blocks face 

If someone corrects me about anything, I actually thank the person sincerely and make it a point never to repeat the mistake. I don't know, makes me wonder how they were in school ... probably just managing to pass their English exams. I can now understand the frustration of teachers when they used to reprimand some pupils in class over and over again. Do people continue being dumb, even in their adult lives? Sure looks like it! Thanks M.Kisses for the chat!

Speaking of which, kids are busy with exams. I won't even begin to say how stressful it is for all parents, esp the mums! Do father's sit with the kids exams revision?? How about some feedback on that? It feels like we all are back in school, got to make time for the kids. Some are already over and some pupils are in the midst of it. I'm sure everyone, especially matriculants are stressed about their results.

 This girl is not allowed to keep her phone with her when she is studying, and rightly so!! but I couldn't help but laugh when I read her status. Punctuation marks are so important hun!!! Unless you call your big bro/sis "studying"

Welllll not only school students are busy with exams, even professionals are. I came across this verrrry apt profile pic from a friend. It pretty much sums it up!!! I hope everyone receive the best of results, it's the effort that you put in!

Okayyyy...... so now some of you may know that I'm busy with driving lessons.... lol now yorl all know! It's been something that I wish to accomplish soon, though I haven't had time to book my test as yet. I've been really motivated to do this by my good friend in Jhb, thank you for being you *hugs

It's not that I'm nervous to drive or whatever but eish, ask anyone in Durbs and everyone will tell you how crazy Brickfield Rd is and we are right in the middle of it. Never mind taxi drivers here, Even the ladies experience road rage! *blocks face

It's like everyone who has a car in Overport just have to come outa the house for the smallest of reasons, our road is choked awla time!!! One edition of our local paper gets delivered and all the aunties just gotta stock up on steak from Star Meats, Steers sauces from Marcellos, cooldrink from B.Foodmarket and drive awla way to Jolly's cos the chicken is cheap there! Ha!!! but they do have awesome specials - free advertising for them on my blog - someone send them my link please and they can eft into my account!!!

 But why are ladies so critical of other lady drivers? I came across this status and I couldn't stop laughing!

Whenever I'm busy with my lessons, I've had to really concentrate on what my instructor is telling me. I'm always laughing and smiling at my mistakes, I can't help it - it's who I am and that's my personality! I've had to learn to NOT look at other personalised number plates, which I always do when I'm with my hubby and when I stop at robots, I've got to NOT look at the car next to me but anticipate robot changes. But what happens when you see this:

Eish! Why on earth would anyone wana push their seats so far back? It's definitely a male thing cos I'm yet to see a female like this on the road - ladies usually touch up on their make-up etc at robots....and it's not restricted to Chats in Durbs! I betcha any weekend, if u drive around in Lenz and that Zoo lake place, you will see male drivers tryna outdo each other for this!!!

So I gotta share the next 2 experiences with yorl.

I received a bbm request from someone that was looking for a Guess retailer specifically in the Jhb area. I had a free spot coming up so I bc'ed the request. A contact of mine that sells, msged me saying that she won't invite the person bcos what if its a cop? So I sent out another bc saying that contacts must be wary of who they invite bcos with over 2000 contacts, I don't know who is a cop or not.

One contact asked me: what's a cop? *blocks face

And thennnnnn, I received a msg saying: I'm a cop...... with a huge grin, nogal!

Yikes! But Sola is a good cop and has been around on bbm for verrrrry long. And I know with the numerous updates he gives out, he really strives to keep the community safe. Well done!!!

My day is sooo hectic, I sometimes run around like tornado. Yesterday I was soooooo busy, I hurriedly changed my dp and continued with my pc work. I had my bb on charge but after a while I checked my bb and I see it was gone beserk with bbm msgs. This annoyed me bcos I hav been requesting people to move me to their non-bc category. When I checked my bbm, I was absolutely mortified to see my dp! Haha, many of you know what dp I had up! But reallllly, it was an honest mistake, but yoh! I received many smiling, laughing, winking eyes, ROFL and oolala comments! One contact asked me if it was me on the pic! *blocks face!!!!!!

Many ladies asked me to send them the pic again, I'm sure to send to their hubby's at work and they probably were sitting with smug faces in the office! RapidTrader Teaser on a Tuesday!

It's been lovely typing out this post and I get tickled pink when I read all my previous posts as well! With all the stress that we go through everyday, I think that it's important to laugh a little at ourselves cos honestly, we need to! Keep those screengrabs coming in and remember Q in duas
