Serial Profile Picture Thieves

Good evening people!
What a crazy start to the week and I just love it ;-)
I commenced with my competition on Sunday and the response has been so amazing!  I've received fabulous messages of encouragement and reading through them inspires me even more to continue with what I'm doing!

What do you call someone who invites you on bb but don't chat? You know the kind!!! He/she is just there to steal your profile pics and use it as theres, at the same time, nogal!
Personally I don't have a problem with anyone doing that because didn't I just save it from someone else? Yoh but some peeps get so cross! If you are guilty of being upset and taking off with a contact that has 'stolen' your profile picture, here's a reality check for you: Not that you created or drew that picture!!! You don't have copyright to it!!!

 

Well this contact wastes no time in naming contacts! You are either dead or alive! I'm pretty sure 'dead' are all the profile pic thiefs!!! LMAO

 

This weekend I received a request from a contact. She was looking for a lady that 'stole' her picture. but here is the twist to it: the thief used her delicious picture of her baked goodies and apparently gave the impression that she baked them!!!

Hmmmm.....  If you are not a N. Lawson or 'whats-her-name-that-won-masterchefSA (*blocks face-can't get her name), just enrol yourself for cooking lessons and then you can show off to the world your creations. Contacts like you are easily picked up because khala's, foi's, kaki's, maamies (aunts) etc specifically love to open profile pics of eating stuff. They have a 6th sense and instantly know that its not your pic! 

 

What about contacts that only bc the whole day?

Oops! Am I a guilty one? I probably top that list because I seldom chat to anyone. *blocks face

Wellllll if I notice something wrong with someone I query to find out if all is okay or I offer condolences to someone who has lost a loved one or congratulate someone on an achievement but really, I don't have time to chat to everyone! With close to 2000 contacts you know its impossible. Also, wrists and thumbs get so sore at night!!! It almost makes typing on an old typewriter a pleasure! OMW, remember those monstrosities at school! If you were schooling in the 90's, you know what I'm talking about! The 'Murder-She-Wrote' typewriter!! Aaaaargh, gimme back my bb! Even the 8520 will do! Haha. LMAO

 

 

Now that's saying it as it is! When I queried if I'm in that category of 'animals', I was quite relieved to learn that I'm not :-) I think it's for those contacts that find its alright to send out bc's every 5 minutes.

Funny Statuses and Gran in Boots!!!

Hey everyone! How are yorl keeping? It's been a busy busy week with moving all contacts to my new bb device. Slowly but surely it's getting done. My new blackberry is for friends, clients and acquaintances only. If you haven't received my bc to be moved, u should get it by this week. :-)

 

Why is it that people feel it's necessary to update their statuses with weird and mundane information?





 

• DND - I'm at the docs (put us on a guilt trip cos if we don't ask who is sick, that becomes an issue)
• It's raining outside! (does it rain inside? ....... tnx for the weather update)
• Who has the number for Makro? (if you can google "Nando's on Sparks", surely you can get that info for Makro!!!)
• He makes me sooo cross!!!! (Sorry to burst your bubble honey, but if u are attached to a man who experiences more PMS than u, its time to re-assess that relationship!)
• Chats anyone??? (OMW!!!! Are you serious? That's screaming that u are: bored / no one is chatting to u !  *blocks face ..... rather u hav as status: "selectively available" - like my good friend I.C. has, heehee)

 

Burrrrrt I came across this classic.... So now what???  We just sit and wonder if that sneeze really came? Maybe we should all recite 'yarhamu kalla' after 4 min. 

 



 

What about funny statuses?

• I wonder if fat drug dealers sell diet coke. (This contact is probably a regular client!)
• If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends? (She is definitely my youngest contact!)
• The zoo is a pretty safe place to fart. (No wonder some animal species are becoming extinct!)
• I’m not getting older, I’m just becoming a classic.(Aha! I told you that I'm gonna include your status here!)
• My bank is the worst. They’re charging me money for not having enough money in my account. Apparently, I can’t even afford to be broke.(Eish! that's a tough one to even joke about!)
• Get yours now! U snooze, u loose! (This was too funny NOT to include this in my post> It's actually a re-take of my previous blog. Why do people continually misuse this word???)

With Eid being this week, it really was a short week. All the excitement of having the animals being delivered and not forgetting everyone with their kids, nieces and nephews wearing their branded name overalls and gumboots posing with cute little lambs in their yard. Awww that's cute! But this year I noticed ladies and even OMW..... grannys wearing these boots! I mean, come on Nani! Showing off your pink boots is soooo clinging to your youth, its actually quite laughable. Your daughter is probably saying that the colour suits you so well but your son inlaw is definitely thinking of ways to avoid been seen anywhere near you at the farm. And she puts it as a dp!!! *blocks face

 

We've been having fantastic weather in Durbs this week, lovely sunshine and now we've got the beautiful rain. People please drive safe, stay safe. I've been receiving regular traffic updates from a few of my contacts about MVA. Always wear your seatbelt when you are driving.

 

One of my contacts loves receiving jokes - I think its good to de-stress after a hectic day!  Tnx for msging me from your trip. Its a pleasure having you around.....

Something Sheepy

Hi everyone!!! I hope everyone is doing fab :-)

Now you know with the advent of sms and recently, instant messaging, we have a whole new vocabulary of words that are so ingenious in that it saves us time from actually typing out the whole word.
to becomes 2,
you becomes u
LOL becomes laughing out loud
U knw wht I mean cos evn tho my spellng is terrrble here, u cn undrstnd wat I'm tryng 2 say!!!

But what happens when people make serious spelling errors? I mean I can handle "text-speak" but I cannot handle glaring spelling errors. For example I came across this today:
"If you want to loose weight, ask me how"
*blocks face
You cannot "loose" weight. Full stop. Loose is when you trying to knot something and it aint tight. Its loose.
Or if you tried on a pair of jeans after a long time and its loose! The correct word would be to use: "lose"
"If you want to lose weight, ask me how!"
I anticipate the guilty ones scrambling to correct their error now...

Aaaaargh!!! This word drives me nuts and causes utter confusion when it is misused.
"send" is future tense
"sent" is past tense

With Eid around the corner, I've noticed some hilarious profile pics on my bb... Apparently having a cupcake with a sheep-themed icing on the top is cute for the Eid table. Huh??? I'm sure many of you have noticed!
I don't know about you, but biting into a sheep head is sooo not my style! Never mind that its just a whole lot of white icing with a replica head and black ears and it probably tastes great, but for me it's like a local version of Fear Factor! I'm sure that its a hit with the kids, they love creative stuff like that.

So I came across this hilarious pic today...... This was probably the conversation:

Sheep 1: I'm tired of looking at this old lady's backyard... baa
Sheep 2: What do you mean? baa
Sheep 1: I want to go out and see the world...
Sheep 2: Well we travelled over 450km from the farm to come to Durbs.. baa. That should count as "seeing the world."
Sheep 1: I don't think being crammed into a truck with 150 other friends on an overnight road trip is fun. I have a bucket list... baa
Sheep 2: A what???
Sheep 1: A bucket list is a list of things one wishes to do before.... well... we kick the bucket.
Sheep 2: Don't remind me... baa
Sheep 1: 1) I want to see the world
         2) I want to perform a stunt
         3) I want to eat the tastiest and juiciest lucerne at the same time.
Sheep 2: How on earth will you ever get all that done????

Well, this sheep saw the world, performed the stunt but I'm not sure if it got it's 3rd wish!!! It can only happen in Durban!

Not sure what's happening here..... Looks like these sheep got caught en-route at a kids playgroup... in India... during Holi festival!!!

So I did phone some of you peeps and I had a good chat with lots of you. Most responded that they were happy to put a voice behind RapidTrader... and that I sound young! Lol, *blush face*. One contact was completely tongue-tied. Though u gotta admit, that bc was quite funny!

U know the one thing I notice on peoples display pic is that when they buy something, they take a pic of themselves wearing the product and upload it as their dp (display pic). Don't get me wrong, I think that it is great when u sell to a customer and that they are happy with it. Like for eg, I see contacts wearing their new bracelets with sparkling bling on it, or their Ajmaan/Kashka scarves all draped so beautifully or even their new freshlook contact lens. Now I'm just curious..... in fact I'm just dying to see if any1 is brave enough to upload a pic of themselves wearing their.... Lipodress! U knowwwww!!!!! 
From last week, I've noticed more than a dozen contacts selling this new product.... its a wonderful idea! But I've yet to see ANY women squeeeeezing into that small number, going from a size 38 to a size 34 in half an hour (I'm guessing it takes half an hour to suit up into that - *blocks face*)  and put it up as dp... LOL.
The model in that pic looks like she don't even need to wear that dress!!! And can anyone eat a full meal wearing the dress? Just asking cos it looks skin-tight. Hey but I'm sure there are many satisfied clients out there...albeit, hungry satisfied clients!

Hmmmm.... all I can say is WOWWWW! What a fantastic response to my bc this morning. I've received sooo many msgs from all my friends and well-wishers, namely Fathima K, Nals, Saajida, Fahima, Bianca and Rochelle ...Beeg hug for all of you!

Eid is in 2 weeks time so I've been flooded with last minute clients who wish to advertise. Oooh I was chatting to Mahdiyyah ( 24dbfc69) this morning! Yayyy! she will be coming to Durbs end of October - hun you just have to stop by and visit while you are here! Mahdiyyah has the most beautiful centrepieces made with macaroons and flowers. We were discussing about macaroons and I told her, nope! thats one thing I won't attempt to do.

I had a new client today who wanted to take out an ads package with me and we had discussed her days and times in the morning. In the evening she bbmed me to say that her stock was sold out and she won't be doing the ads with me. Hun, don't stressss! I am absolutely delighted to read that your business is doing so well ..... I deal with cancellations awla time so its no biggie!

Lately I've become like a classifieds - haha which I don't mind at all. People will msg me: "
Do you know any1 that sells Avon in the Lenz area?"
or
"Do you know someone that does silk printing?"

ONLY today I received a request:

Now I'm busy looking for this person in my contact list. Can't find. I check my memo where I save info of all current Paid Ads clients. Took a chance, but it wasnt there 'cos I delete old clients, Nix. I did "wallpaper man's" adverts a month ago.

Quraisha : OMW !!! After all the advertising I did for his company, he ACTUALLY deleted me!!!

Grand Footwear has been using my advertising services for a while now and its wonderful to see that they are a manufacturer and direct supplier of ladies shoes. They have been receiving a fantastic response to my broadcasts and status messages.

Hey people! How you doing?
Yessss I know its been a while but as everyone knows, month-end is always a hectic time for all.
Hmmmm.... I cant believe that we are already in October!!! Shops have already started with holiday themes and the red-green colour scheme throughout!
Here on bb, contacts are busy booking out spaces for October!
I have lots of screengrabs saved on my device and ummm..... I thawt that I'd share it with you. Perhaps 1 screengrab per post.
Its same like the munch, only better! You know in the beginning I was so thrilled to capture my screen image and even the 'munch sound' was cool but after a while it got annoying - esp since I cant lower the volume on it. Everyone who heard it, used to think..... here goes - Q is munching something!!! And I dont like the writing at the bottom. It used to always block the exact words/best part of the pic!!!
